About Kid Space Museum
Play is an essential ingredient in the cognitive, emotional, physical and moral development of a child. Research has also shown that play contributes to school success because children are more motivated to learn when they follow their own interests. At Kidspace, we subscribe to the idea that learning and play are one.
As a children’s museum, Kidspace provides interactive learning environments and complementary educational programs designed to stimulate young minds through play. We offer a variety of facilitated activities that children can choose from, such as the popular Harvest to Table activities, Open Art, or Music Time. Children can choose to stay for thirty seconds or thirty minutes, simply working with unfamiliar materials or on a more developed project, without a ‘correct’ outcome. Combined with the creative, open-ended play that happens in the museum's many interactive spaces including Splash Dance, Bugsy’s Diner, The Dig, the Interpretive Arroyo and Kirby’s Kid’s Corner, the museum provides opportunities for self-directed exploration where children become the masters of their own learning as they develop concepts and understandings about their world.
